To be eligible for the position of fire fighter all applicants must meet the following criteria: No experience necessary! Available Monday evenings for business meetings, work nights, and drills. Must be of sound mind and have the character, physical, and technical ability to perform the duties of a volunteer fire fighter. Complete a background investigation and medical evaluation. Citizen of the United States. Have a valid State of New Jersey driver’s license. Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age. Reside in the Township of Jackson, County of Ocean, and State of New Jersey. Primary residence must be within a three (3) mile radius of either JMFC fire station(s) or you must reside within Fire District No. 4 No training, no problem! You provide your time and we will pay for you to become a New Jersey Level 1 Fire Fighter. All required equipment will be provided by the fire company at no expense to you.
